Hello!
Recomendo.
I was introduced to Delfina – Fine Portuguese Deli because it hosted the latest Zomato Foodies Meetup I was invited to. The restaurant is located on Praça do Município in Lisbon and it’s part of the AlmaLusa Baixa-Chiado hotel. The concept is centered around Portuguese and Mediterranean Cuisine conceived with fresh and local ingredients, serving Portuguese wines in a relaxed atmosphere, both inside the hotel and “al Fresco” dinning by the Town hall square.
We had the opportunity to taste the main entrées, meat and fish dishes and desserts showcased in the restaurant’s renovated menu. During this meal we also tasted a selection of wines and spirits from Monte da Ravasqueira winery, which was really exciting. We started off with the Padrón peppers, the green bean tempura, the chopped beef loin, the jiaozi and the sautéed prawns. I must say the entrée that stood out for me the most was the sautéed prawns with garlic olive oil and fresh malagueta pepper!
We went on to the fish dishes! We tried the dory fish fillets with mashed sweet potato and orange, the Malaysian curry with shrimp and basmati rice and the Bacalhau à Brás (Codfish) with seasoned olives. To be honest, everything was great, although the mashed sweet potato with orange really stood out! I also loved the Malaysian curry that practically bursts in your mouth with spicy flavor. From the meat dishes we tried the pot roast free range chicken a la Delfina, with mushrooms and baked potatoes, the Quinoa migas with black iberian pig plumas and the Duck liver carolino with almonds and Queijo da Ilha cheese (Azorian cheese). From these I personally loved the quinoa and the duck liver that was exceptionally well executed (I’m not a big fan of liver and I personally loved it)!
For dessert we tried the chocolate mousse 70% cacao with coffee grains, orange zest and Fleur de Sel and the traditional Portuguese pudding with egg. Since I’m a fan of cacao, it’s not surprising that I loved the chocolate mousse! The salty flavor was just right and I found this dessert to be a perfect fit to end such an intense meal! We finished the tasting with a fortified Alentejo region wine by Monte Ravasqueira that was divine! The best part about this place is knowing we can walk in at any time, being that it’s a hotel restaurant! I personally recommend it!

Enjoy!
